Winifred D. Walters, 94, formerly of Shade Gap, PA and more recently a resident of the Long Term Care Unit of the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA, died Friday, September 1, 2023.

Born May 14, 1929 at Robertsdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Curtis and Verna (Watkin) Rupert. She was united in marriage to Edward S. Walters on July 28, 1950 at Saltillo, PA by Rev. Richard Myers. Mr. Walters preceded in death on September 2, 2005.

She is survived by three children, Karen Cleland and husband Craig of Austin, TX, Craig Walters and wife Christine of Shade Gap and Rodney Walters and wife Kim of Shade Gap, four grandchildren, Allison DePew, Drew Walters, Ben Walters and Logan Walters and five great grandchildren, Brooks DePew, Parker DePew, Aubrey Conrad, Micah Conrad and Remy Walters.

Mrs. Walters was a member of St. Luke’s United Methodist Church, Shade Gap, PA.

During her life she was mainly a homemaker and also provided childcare for many years in the area.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, September 6, 2023 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Rev. Meagan Boozer officiating. Private interment will be made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Fulton County Medical Center Foundation, 214 Peach Orchard Road, McConnellsburg, PA 17233, for Long Term Care renovations.
