Wilbur M. Locke

Wilbur M. Locke, 94, formerly of Hurricane, WV, died Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Goodwill Mennonite Home, Grantsville, MD, where he had been a resident for the last five years.

Born November 26, 1929 at Shade Gap, PA, he was a son of the late Earl and Mabel (Fraker) Locke. He was united in marriage to the former Alma “Sis” Collins who preceded in death on May 9, 2015.

He is survived by three children, Paula Resh and husband Jay of Grantsville, MD, Daniel Locke and wife Katherine of Meyersville, MD and Carol “Susie” Locke of Hurricane, WV. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Logan Locke and one sister, Cora Mae Plank.

Mr. Locke was a member of the Salem United Methodist Church, Hurricane, WV. 

He was an avid hunter, fisherman and will be remembered as a real family man.

Mr. Locke was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U. S. Army.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Monday, August 26, 2024 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA. Interment will be made at Locke’s Valley Cemetery, Shade Gap, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
