Wendell R. Appleby, 66, of Decorum Road, Neelyton, PA, died Sunday, March 19, 2023 at his home.

Born on November 4, 1956 in Huntingdon, PA, he was the son of the late Lindburgh and Audrie (Snyder) Appleby.  He was united in marriage to Cindy Starr.  Mrs. Appleby survives at home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by son Matthew Appleby and wife Kathy, Cherokee Valley, AR, grandchildren Ethan and Andrew Appleby and step-grandchildren Melissa and Krista Williams. Siblings Denise Sites and husband Dennis, Chambersburg, PA, Galen Appleby and wife Bonita, Shade Gap, PA and Jeff Appleby and wife Donna, Orrstown, PA also survive.

Mr. Appleby was preceded in death by son Mark Appleby.

He was a graduate of Chambersburg High School - Class of 1974.

Mr. Appleby was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard.

During his lifetime, he worked as a group leader at Oshkosh, McConnellsburg, PA for 42 years.  He loved being in the woods with his grandsons, Ethan and Andrew.

A celebration of life will be held from 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM, Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, 22776 Piper Lane, Shade Gap, PA with Pastor Glenn Rousselle officiating.
