Wayne W. March

Wayne W. March, 92, of Three Springs, PA, died Sunday, January 7, 2024 at UPMC Altoona Hospital, Altoona, PA.

Born on October 22, 1931 in Amble, MI, he was the son of the late Wesley and Martha (Oakley) March.  He was united in marriage to Joanne Struchen on January 25, 1975.  Mrs. March survives of Hollidaysburg, PA.

He is also survived by his children Wesley March, Lynda Edwards and Anthony March and step-children Susan Murray, Donald Struchen, David Struchen, Charles Struchen and Christopher Struchen.  There are seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Mr. March was preceded in death by his first wife Marian H. (Monroe) March, son Ralph March, grandson Joshua Edwards, brothers Frank March, Harold March and L. T. March and sister Betty Sprinkle.

He was a member of the Three Springs Lions Club, a former District Commander of Blue Juniata Post 5754, V. F. W., Mount Union, PA and Clay Township Supervisor.  He retired from SCI Huntingdon as a Corrections Officer.

Mr. March served in the US Army from 1950 - 1975, having reached the rank of Master Sergeant.  He was a veteran of both the Vietnam and Korean War.  He had three tours in Vietnam and had also served in Europe.

During his lifetime, he enjoyed gardening and farming.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 13, 2024 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Rev. David Ford officiating.  Interment will be at Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
