Wanda Cisney Bentz, 93, passed away on Monday, October 27, 2025 at Seaton Springwood, York, PA.
Born on January 12, 1932 in Perulack, PA, she was the daughter of the late C. Brady and Nellie (Campbell) Cisney.
She is survived by children Douglas Scott and wife Linda, Annapolis, MD and Stephen Scott and wife Veronica, Rome, Italy and grandchildren Andrew Scott, San Francisco, CA, Lauren Scott, Los Angeles, CA, Gregory Scott and Francesco Scott, both of Rome, Italy.
One sister, Lena Berrier, Shade Gap, PA also survives. She was preceded in death by her two brothers Andrew Cisney of Chambersburg, PA and Russell Cisney of Nossville, PA.
She was a graduate of Orbisonia High School and Huntingdon Secretarial School. She was a commencement speaker at Orbisonia High School and at Huntingdon Secretarial School voted “Most Businesslike” and “Most Likely to Succeed”. She began her career as a Medical Records Librarian at Huntingdon Hospital.
She was previously married to Alfred Lee Scott of Orbisonia, PA and Willam C. Bentz of York, PA.
In her adult life she lived in Boston, MA; Nice, France; Poughkeepsie, NY; Silver Spring, MD; Chambersburg, PA; York, PA and New Cumberland, PA.
As a child, Ms. Bentz attended Nossville Methodist Church, and later in life was an active member of St. Matthews Evangelical Lutheran Church, York, PA where she served as a Stephens minister for several years.
During her lifetime, she worked in several roles as an executive secretary starting as assistant to the General Manager of the Yorktowne Hotel, York, PA in the 1950s and ultimately as executive secretary for the Vice President of Advanced Engineering at York International Corporation, York, PA, where she retired.
Following Ms. Bentz’s wishes, her body was donated to Penn State Hershey Medical School for teaching and research.
She leaves behind a family deeply blessed by her loving spirit. She inspired all around her to take a moment to appreciate the beauty of nature and the earth that God gifted us. She truly believed life was beautiful and is made more beautiful by cherishing our relationships with family and loved ones. She epitomized her middle name, Grace, in her words and actions, thoughtfulness and kind-hearted wisdom. She will be deeply missed but always remembered lovingly in the hearts of the family.
The family is planning a memorial service for close friends and family to be held at a later date.
