Virgil W. Shaw

Virgil W. Shaw, 78, of Three Springs, PA passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.

Born on March 15, 1946 in Springfield Township, Huntingdon County, PA, he was the son of the late Marshall E. Shaw, Sr. and Edna M. (Mellott) Shaw.

Mr. Shaw is survived by siblings Shirley E. Mitchell, Three Springs, PA, Helen D. Madden and husband James, Antioch, TN and Marshall E. Shaw, Jr. and wife Dixie, Three Springs, PA, nephew Howard Mitchell and wife Beth, Jacksonville, NC, niece Nancy Mayuri, Colorado Springs, CO, nephew John Mitchell and wife Jea, Tehachapi, CA, nephew Floyd Mitchell and wife LeAnne, Bell, FL, niece Tammy Mitchell, Huntingdon, PA and significant other Mark Ciampa, Latrobe, PA, niece Brenda Madden, Antioch, TN, niece Valerie Herring and husband Bruce, Lincoln University, PA, nephew Chris Shaw and wife Becky, Three Springs, PA and nephew Casey Shaw, San Diego, CA.

He is also survived by numerous great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother-in-law William Mitchell.

Mr. Shaw was a graduate of the Southern Huntingdon County High School - Class of 1964.

He attended Grace United Methodist Church, Three Springs, PA and Heritage Baptist Church, Three Springs, PA.

During his lifetime, he worked as an inspector and auditor for ELCO, Huntingdon, PA, Berg Electronics and FCI, Mount Union, PA.  He enjoyed going for walks, shopping, dining out, genealogy, gardening (especially growing pumpkins) and feeding birds.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Tony Blackburn officiating.  Interment will be at Three Springs Cemetery, Three Springs, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 - 8:00 PM Monday evening and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
