Verna Mae “Petey” Peterson 

Verna Mae Peterson, of Dover, PA died Friday, September 25, 2026  at Providence Place, Dover, PA where she had been a resident since 2021.  

Born on January 8, 1938 in Huntingdon, PA, she was the youngest of seven children to the late Minnie Alice (Hileman) Peterson. She never married.

She is survived by a sister Mary E. Keith and a brother Arthur Peterson plus many nieces and nephews.

She was a member of the Rockhill Church of the Brethren, Rockhill Furnace, PA.

She retired from BAE Systems as the Office Services Manager.  One of her assignments was to be stationed in Iran, in which she spent 7 years.  She traveled extensively in the United States, Israel, Greece, Europe and elsewhere. Fearless to a fault, as she went zip lining in Costa Rica, on her 80th birthday. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, October 2, 2026 at the Martin Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Beverly Skopic officiating. Interment will be at Orbisonia Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to the service on Friday.
