Obituary

Valgene M. Hershey, 86, of Three Springs, PA, died Saturday, December 24, 2022 at Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.

Born on July 18, 1936 in Saltillo, PA, he was the son of the late Ebert and Grace (Lynn) Hershey.  He was united in marriage to Helen Boyd Meredith on December 9, 1988.  Mrs. Hershey survives at home.

He is survived by daughter Lisa Moody, New Hampshire, step-son Daniel Meredith and wife Michele, LaVale, MD and step-daughter Tracy McLucas and husband Ryan, Gettysburg, PA.  There are nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Sister Marjorie Rupert, Three Springs, PA, also survives.

Mr. Hershey was preceded in death by son Brett Hershey.

He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1955-1958.

Mr. Hershey was a member of Harry Lackhove American Legion Post 517, Mercersburg, PA

During his lifetime, he was employed at Marona Construction, Philadelphia, PA for 26 years and later retired after 2 years as a diesel mechanic for Charles E. Brake, Inc., St. Thomas, PA 

At the request of Mr. Hershey, there will be no viewing or funeral services.
