Thurlby E. "Babe" Lake

Thurlby E. “Babe” Lake, 81, of Shade Gap, PA, died Sunday, December 7, 2025 at his home.

Born on January 29, 1944 in Shade Gap, PA, he was the son of the late Ellis J. and Anabel (Colyer) Lake.

He is survived by sons Roger Lake and wife Pam and Michael Lake and wife Deeann, both of Shade Gap, PA, grandchildren Mikel Lake, Michelle Lake, Eddie Lake and Candace Lake and several great grandchildren.

Sister Dorothy Baer and brother Donald “Grub” Lake also survive.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Lake was preceded in death by siblings James Lake, Charles Lake, Sr., Russell Devlin, Arthur Devlin, Jackie Devlin and Robert Devlin.

He was a member of the Shade Gap Sportsmen.

Mr. Lake was of Christian faith.

During his lifetime, he was a stone mason.  He was an avid hunter.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the creek by the garage.
