Simon Peter Mazzei

Simon Peter Mazzei, age 2, of Hollidaysburg, PA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, June 9, 2023.

He was born at home on October 16, 2020, in Hollidaysburg, PA. He was welcomed into the world by his father and mother, Joshua and Debra (Jones) Mazzei, along with his three sisters, Olivia, Lucia, and Claire. 

In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by paternal grandparents Frank and Bonnie (McClain) Mazzei. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, James Jones.

Simon Peter radiated the unconditional love of Jesus, which had a way of impacting everyone he met in this world. He was always smiling his big cheeky grin and he waved to everybody in his path. He was tough but tender, silly but serious, sour but sweet, he was a blessing from God. He shared in his daddy’s passion of riding his “dirt bike” bicycle while making motorcycle sounds. He was Daddy’s little helper in all the ways. They loved fishing together and sword fights. Simon was tender with his mommy, giving silly kisses and cuddles but was often found uprooting her potted houseplants and throwing rocks at her van with a giggle. She cherished every bath and story book at bedtime. He was so loved on by his sisters, wrestling on the floor was always followed up with a hug. He growled like a bear during mealtime. He was always up for a dance party in the kitchen and his moves were like nothing we’d ever seen before. Simon loved chasing chickens in the yard and getting the mail every morning. You would find him covered in dirt with rocks in his pockets yet he loved getting dressed up, wearing suspenders for church Sunday morning. This sweet baby will be so terribly missed but we thank God for giving him to our family. We loved every moment we shared with him and we’re looking forward to the day we meet again. 

Simon Peter is deeply loved by his Uncles and Aunts (and cousins); James Jones (Abby); Danny and Michelle Jones (Jocelyn); Cory and Melissa Jones (Aiden and Landen); Brian and Melissa (Mazzei) Gates (Abigail, Camilla, Samantha-Brielle); Jacob and Jennifer Mazzei (Zelma, Rylan, Kasen, Isaac); Brad and Angela (Mazzei) Rickabaugh (Isabella, Micah, Eli).

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3pm to 6pm, Sunday, June 25, 2023 and Funeral Service will be held at 11am, Monday, June 26, 2023 at Community Worship Center, 1300 Bald Eagle Ave., Tyrone, PA with Pastor Keith Deal officiating.
