Shelby (Vaughan) Goshorn

Shelby Vaughan Goshorn, 84, of WestMinster Woods, Huntingdon, PA, and formerly of Blairs Mills, PA, died at 8:10 am, Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Penn Highlands DuBois, DuBois, PA.

Born June 25, 1940, in Perulack, Lack Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Orlando Jay and Mabel (Diven) Vaughan. She was married to William Raymond Goshorn on April 9, 1960. William predeceased her on September 18, 2010.

Mrs. Goshorn is survived by three daughters and one son: Cheryl Barnes (Larry Steele), Mount Union, PA; Rhonda Mansberger (Ed Mansberger), Calvin, PA; Randall Goshorn, Duncannon, PA; and Angela Peterson, Mercersburg, PA. She had eight grandchildren: Karen, Holly, Maranda, Tyler, Jeniece, Andrea, Dalton, and Shannon; ten great grandchildren: Caden, Jackson, Parker, Paisley, Blake, Kate, Emily, Melody, Peter, and Gracie; and one step great grandchild: Alana.

In addition, Mrs. Goshorn is survived by a sister, Wanda Rowles, East Waterford. One sister, Sandra Oliver, predeceased her.

Mrs. Goshorn was a school teacher for many years, retiring in 1999, and also helped on the family farm. She was a member of the Richvale United Methodist Church for many years, where she also served as the pianist, and for the last few years after moving to Huntingdon, attending the 15th Street United Methodist Church. She enjoyed cooking, baking, music, playing the piano, and traveling to Florida. In her early years, her and William enjoyed traveling with and even helping to arrange bus tours with groups from Shade Valley, and Shade Gap, through Bollman Bus Company, making many friends along the way.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, October 14, 2024, at the Richvale United Methodist Church, 17940 Shade Valley Road, Blairs Mills, PA with Pastor Barb Servello officiating. Interment will be made in Shade Valley Cemetery, State Route 35, Blairs Mills. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
