Sandra J. (Hann) Whitsel

Sandra J. Whitsel, 85, of Three Springs, PA, died Monday, June 27, 2022 in Trafford, PA at her sister’s residence.

Born on June 24, 1937 in Richfield, Juniata County, PA, she was the daughter of the late Donald W. and Mildred A. (Arbogast) Hann.  She was united in marriage to Harry H. Whitsel on April 1, 1961 in Beaufort, SC.  Mr. Whitsel preceded in death on November 26, 2000.

She is survived by children Michele Painter and husband Alan, Greencastle, PA, Sue Wilson, Camp Hill, PA, Stephanie Smith and husband Robert, Jr., Shirleysburg, PA and Thomas P. Whitsel and wife Candice, Three Springs, PA.  Thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and siblings Paul Hann, Lancaster, PA and Donna Koscho, Trafford, PA also survive.

She was a member of the Rockhill Church of the Brethren, Rockhill Furnace, PA and had attended Cromwell United Bible Church, Three Springs, PA.

Mrs. Whitsel retired as the Director of Nursing in 2000 from the former Woodland Retirement Center (now Embassy of Woodland Park), Orbisonia, PA.

During her lifetime, she enjoyed reading and spending time with her sister.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 8, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, 3218 Pennsylvania Avenue, Chambersburg, PA with Alan Painter officiating.
