Myron “Sonny” Jerome Fish, 77, of Three Springs, PA went to be with the Lord, on Saturday, October 16, 2021.
Myron was born on December 15, 1943, in Mansfield, PA, and is the son of the late Edgar and Susie (Snell) Fish.
Myron was united in marriage to Jeanne E. (Simcox) Fish, on November 18, 1962, in Bennettsville, SC. His wife of 54 years preceded him in death in November 2016. He is survived by his four children: Kenneth Fish and wife, Rebecca of Shade Gap, PA; Mark Fish of San Francisco, CA; David Fish and wife, Karen of Shepherdstown, WV; Deborah Fish of Hazelton, PA.
He is also survived by four grandchildren: Jessica Curfman and husband, Austin; Jennifer Yohn and husband Paul; Matthew Fish and wife, Paige; and Danielle Fish. He also has five great-grandchildren Carter and Keira Curfman, Paul Jr. and Charlotte Yohn and Wyatt Fish.
There are also a number of nieces and nephews surviving, along with the following siblings: Sharleen Shoff and husband, Tom of Williamsport, PA; Gary Fish and wife Connie of Mansfield, PA. The following siblings preceded him in death: Elizabeth Salter, Edgar Fish, Beverly Mitchell, Phyllis Maranda, and Janice Paris.
Myron worked on the family farm and cut paper wood until he graduated from Mansfield High School, after graduating he joined the U.S. Air Force where he became an aircraft mechanic. He then worked for Local 66 as a mechanic and later transferred to Local Union 542 working as a mechanic and pipeline welder, where he was an active member for 34 years and a lifelong member for 55 years. After retirement, he worked with his son Kenny at his business K&B Construction in Shade Gap, and he also worked at K.L. Mills in Orbisonia.
Myron was a member of the Center Grove Brethren in Christ Church, Three Springs, where he was a superintendent and later attended the Church of the Brethren in Rockhill. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, bowling, golfing, building wood furniture, gardening, and all kinds of mechanical projects. After the passing of his wife, he also took on canning, baking, and sending beautiful cards with heartfelt messages to his family and friends. Along with going to breakfast at the Spring Creek Diner he also enjoyed spending time with his two beagles, Molly and Max.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery, Rockhill Furnace, PA with Rev. Stanley Morgan and Rev. Douglas Sherlock officiating. Friends may call at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA from 10:30 AM - 12:00 PM on Wednesday.
