Mary K. (Kelly) Serotkin

Mary Kelly Serotkin, 80, of Three Springs, Pa, passed away peacefully early in the evening of November 13, 2022 in the presence of her family.  She was the daughter of the late Norman and Phyllis (Eberly) Kelly of Three Springs, Pa, born December 21, 1941.  Mary attended Orbisonia High School and later graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Home Economics/Family and Consumer Sciences. She loved to learn and continued her education through Penn State's Cooperative Education program.  She later retired from Southern Huntingdon County High School where she was a Home Economics teacher for many years.  A 4-H leader who taught textile design for numerous years and she touched many lives with her creative skills, sassy expressions, and patient nature. She loved traveling near and far, reading, taking care of animals, and had a vast knowledge of plants and gardening. She is survived by her two children: David Serotkin of Three Springs, Pa, and Amber S. Atkinson of Lafayette, La, son-in-law: Chad Atkinson, grandchildren: Brooke Serotkin, Xander, Marlo and Cy Atkinson, siblings: Edward Kelly of Wrightsville, Pa, Patricia Rotz of Three Springs, Pa, and brother-in-law: Ted Rotz, sister-in-law: Barbara Locantore, nieces and nephews: Susan Rotz Mamakos, Kelly Rotz Bohn, Becky Rotz Fritts, Jennifer Rotz, Warren Kelly, Steven Kelly, John Kelly, Steven and Nancy Locantore, gal pal and best friend: Marcia Slates.  Mary was predeceased by her son, Michael J. Serotkin, and sister-in-law, Barbara Kelly.  Mary also left behind her ever-faithful pooch, Trooper, and felines, Floyd, CoCo and Tigger.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, November 18, 2022 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Rev. Traci Rabenstein officiating. Internment will be at Three Springs Cemetery, Three Springs, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
