Martha Virginia Kelly, 92, Pleasant Hill Road, Burnt Cabins, PA died Saturday morning, July 27, 2019 at the Long Term Care Unit of Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.
Born December 1, 1926 at Altoona, PA, she was the daughter of the late Willard and Mary (St. Clair) Knisely.
She was married to William R. Kelly on August 10, 1949. Mr. Kelly preceded in death on October 5, 2012.
One son William D. “Butch” Kelly survives of Burnt Cabins. There are two grandsons, Jonathan and Michael Kelly, and a great grandson Corbin Kelly.
A brother Richard Knisely, York, PA and a sister Madeline Cornelius, Chambersburg, PA also survive.
Two sisters Joan Price and Helen Kyler and a brother Bruce Knisely are deceased.
Mrs. Kelly attended the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Shade Gap, PA.
In her early years, she had worked at Heinz Co. and Stanley Co., Chambersburg. She later ran an egg delivery route. Also she worked at the Sunny Ridge Restaurant, Shade Gap, PA. Mrs. Kelly was known as an excellent baker. She made tier cakes and mints for weddings and anniversaries. In her later years, she was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Joseph Barrett officiating. Interment will be at Burnt Cabins Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
