Obituary

Marlin J. “Joey” Fleming, Jr., 51, of Grapevine Lane, Orbisonia, PA, died Sunday, May 28, 2023 at his home.

Born April 18, 1972 at Lewistown, PA, he was a son of Marlin J. Sr., and Marlene (Parsons) Fleming who survive of Blacklog Valley. He was united in marriage to the former Sara Traxler on June 28, 2008. Mrs. Fleming survives at their home.

He is also survived by five children, Evan Fleming of St. Thomas, PA, Natasha Fleming of Shade Gap, PA, Helen Appleby of Shade Gap, Amber Dickinson and husband David of Three Springs, PA and Luke Traxler of Shade Gap, four grandchildren, Olivia Tart, Abigail Tart, Brianna Dickinson and Kynslee Traxler, one great grandson, Westin Bucher and three sisters, Carolyn Detwiler and husband Ed, Michele Whitsel and husband Marshall and Missy Murray and husband Jason. One brother, Perry Woodward, preceded in death.

Mr. Fleming was employed as a heavy equipment operator at Scott’s Hauling and Excavating, St. Thomas, PA for many years and more recently at Kinsley’s Construction, Hagerstown, MD.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and his father.

At Mr. Fleming’s request there will be no services.
