Lucy Ellen Kerr Harper, 73, of Mt. Carmel Road, Three Springs, PA, passed away Thursday, July 1, 2021 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.
Born December 15, 1947 in Harrisburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Richard and Anna (Crozier) Kerr. She is survived by her favorite loving husband of 52 years, Harold E. Harper, whom she married on September 27, 1968.
She is also survived by three sons, Jeffrey Harper and wife Jerriann of Three Springs, PA, Douglas Harper and wife Sheri of Altoona, PA and Matthew Harper and wife Tammy of Johnstown, PA, five grandchildren, Cody Harper and wife Haley, Corey Harper and companion Samantha Miller, Clara Harper, Daniel Harper and Addison Harper, one great granddaughter, Mila Grace Harper, four siblings, Elizabeth Sue Baylor and husband Richard of Danville, PA, Jeanne Cross and husband Robert of Charlottesville, VA, Richard Kerr of Tallahassee, FL and Steven Kerr and wife Jeane of Dover, PA and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her stepmother, Pauline (Owen) Kerr and a brother- in- law, George Harper.
She was a 1965 graduate of Susquehanna Township High School, a 1969 graduate of Shippensburg University and obtained her Master’s Degree from Shippensburg University in 1971. She retired from Lebanon School District after being an elementary school teacher for 35 years.
Mrs. Harper was a former hand bell and choir member of Palm Lutheran Church, Palmyra, PA, a longtime member of Grace United Methodist Church, Three Springs, PA and former president of the Lebanon Mrs. Jaycees, where she received the highest honor of Congresswoman. She was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing solitaire, spending time with her family and traveling with her husband.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA. Interment will be made at the Old School Baptist Cemetery, RD, Three Springs, PA. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from noon until the time of the service on Tuesday.
