Lester W. Kling, 82, of York, PA, died Saturday, January 4, 2025 at his residence.
Born on January 6, 1942 in Huntingdon, PA, he was the son of the late Evans and Grace (Piper) Kling. He was united in marriage to Thelma E. Williams. Mrs. Kling preceded in death on June 5, 1995.
He is survived by children Anthony D. Kling and wife Edith, Christopher L. Kling and Chirstina Mast and husband Frans and grandchildren Colin Mast, Andrew Mast, Hallie Kling, Katelynn Kling and Isabella Kling.
Brothers-in-law Walter Williams, Donald Williams and David Williams and sister-in-law Debbie Kling also survive.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by sons Matthew W. Kling and Charles R. Kling, brothers Gerald C. Kling and John Kling, half-sisters Geraldine Strait, Genevieve Booth and Freda Welch and half-brother James Piper.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1964 - 1970.
Mr. Kling was a lifetime member of the NRA, member of Crayley Fish & Game, member of Pleasureville American Legion Post 799 and attended East Side Assembly of God Church, York, PA.
During his lifetime, he was employed as a lineman for Hoosier Engineering and later a truck driver for Smith Transfer and Preston Trucking. He enjoyed target shooting, attending gun shows and hunting, which included hunting elk, buffalo, deer and prairie dogs.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Rev. Donald R. Belch officiating. Private interment will be at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 - 8:00 PM Wednesday evening and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
