L. Locke Obituary

L. Dale Locke, 90, of Locke Valley Road, Shade Gap, PA, died Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at Penn Highlands Huntingdon.

Born January 7, 1931 in Springfield Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, he was a son of the late Clair A. and Hazel (Miller) Locke. He was united in marriage to the former Delores Snyder on July 12, 1951. Mrs. Locke preceded in death on March 11, 1997. He later married the former Jean Noble Locke on August 13, 1999. Mrs. Locke survives at their home.

He is survived by two children, Glenda Smith of Denver, PA and Carl Locke and wife Vanessa of RD Shade Gap, PA, one stepson, Craig Noble and wife Wendy of Asheville, OH, six grandchildren, Tricia Stinney, Erica Smith, Alexia Davis, Philip Locke, Loranda Shope and MacKenzie Huntsman, thirteen great grandchildren and one sister, Ruth Gallagher of Newtown Square, PA. He was preceded in death by one grandson, William Locke and one son in law, Michael Smith.

Mr. Locke had attended the Shade Gap Presbyterian Church. He was a member of Cromwell Lodge #572, F. & A. M., Orbisonia, PA and a former member of the Shade Gap Lions Club.

He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA after 30 years service. He was also a school bus driver in the Southern Huntingdon County School District.

Mr. Locke was an avid hunter and fisherman and also enjoyed watching baseball and football.

His greatest joy was his family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
