Judy K. Smith, 80, of Rockhill Furnace, PA, died Saturday, December 21, 2024 at Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.
Born on April 23, 1944 in Rockhill Furnace, PA, she was the daughter of the late Janvier and Margaret (Byers) Whitsel. She was united in marriage to Robert Smith on July 23, 1965 in Winchester, VA. Mr. Smith preceded in death on April 3, 2019.
Mrs. Smith is survived by sons Robert R. Smith, Jr. and wife Stephanie and Mark A. Smith and wife Tonya, all of Shirleysburg, PA, grandchildren Benjamin Smith, Logan Smith and wife McKenzie, Mason Smith, Andrea Riley and husband Bruce, Emily Smith and Luke Smith, great grandchildren Sophia Smith, Hayden Smith, Eli Smith, Kali Riley and Konner Riley and sister Peggy Painter.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters Lucille Gilliland, June Geesey and Patricia Ruby and brother Janvier Whitsel, Jr.
Mrs. Smith was a member of the Rockhill Church of the Brethren, Rockhill Furnace, PA where she served as a financial secretary and sang in the choir. She was a graduate of the Southern Huntingdon County High School.
During her lifetime, she was employed at Moore Brothers Furniture and Potts IGA, both in Orbisonia, PA. In her later years, she was a caregiver. She enjoyed playing Scrabble with her sister Peggy and spending time with her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, December 26, 2024 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Beverly Skopic and Pastor Brian L. Smith officiating. Interment will be at I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery, Rockhill Furnace, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
