John J. Myers, 88, of Honey Grove, died Sunday June 9, 2019 at his home.
Born July 17, 1930 in East Waterford, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Harry Garfield and Mona Simmons. He was reared by his grandparents Alice and Abraham Seitz.
He was united in marriage to the former Cula Smith on March 5, 1950. Mrs. Myers survives at home.
Mr. Myers was preceded in death by sisters Helen Goshorn and Dorothy Ruth. He is survived by niece Mary McMullen of Blairs Mills and nephews John Goshorn of Blairs Mills and Bob Goshorn of Dauphin.
He was a veteran of the Korean War.
During his lifetime, he worked as a sawyer at the J. Nevin White Lumber Company in Duncannon, Pennsylvania for 43 years.
Mr. Myers enjoyed turkey and deer hunting and attending car races. He was a member of the Perry Lodge #458 F&AM.
Funeral services will be held at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Ford officiating. Interment will be made at Salem Cemetery, RD, Blairs Mills, Pennsylvania. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.
