Joan Louise Miller, 80, of Saltillo, PA died Monday, August 23, 2021 at her home.
Born on January 30, 1941 in Clay Township, PA, she was the sixth of nine children of the late Hayden and Emma Gertrude (Walker) Miller. She was united in marriage to James A. Miller on November 21, 1959. Mr. Miller survives at home.
She was reunited in heaven with her parents, sister Mary Shue, sister Lois Jenkins and brothers Max, Hayden Miller, Jr. and granddog Bentley Jane.
Mrs. Miller leaves behind to cherish her memory daughter Lisa Hockenberry and husband Tim, daughter Lori Yocum and husband Drew, son Damon Miller and wife Robyn, grandchildren Amber Wakefield and husband Tom, Alicia Williamson and husband Matthew, Andrea Hockenberry and partner Adam Benson, Nathan Yocum and partner Julia Kowalski, Nicholas Miller, Matthew Miller, Payge Miller and partner Spencer Penrod and Aryaunnah Miller.
Those who called her Grammi gave her the greatest delight — her great-grandchildren Mya Williamson, Hailey Williamson, Lainie Williamson, Mattie Williamson, Landon Miller, Vincent Overbey and Ryan Benson.
Mrs. Miller is also remembered by sisters Annalee Hamilton, Kay Wible and husband Dale, June Gaff and Liz Varner and husband Pete.
She cherished every moment she got to spend with her family. She also loved God with all of her heart, faithfully serving him at her church, Fairview Church, that she grew up in and later taught Sunday School. She loved singing as part of the Gospel Echos — a gospel singing group formed with her sisters and their spouses.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Fairview Church, 20091 Fairview Church Road, Three Springs, PA with Rev. Jimmy McCarty officiating. Interment will be at Fairview Cemetery, adjacent to the church. Friends may call at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA from 6 - 8:00 PM on Thursday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
