Jay Wakefield Obituary

Jay L. Wakefield, 95, of Camp Hill, PA, died Monday, July 1, 2019 at the Lebanon VA Medical Center, Lebanon, PA.

Born February 4, 1924 at Lemoyne, PA, he was the son of the late Jesse and Mildred (Shue) Wakefield. 

He is survived by three daughters, Janice Dunlap of Hershey, PA, Jennifer Bull of Hummelstown, PA and Jane Victor of Harrisburg, PA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a sister, Palma Cramer of Iowa, a half sister, Jessica Dragonetti of Florida and a half brother, George Wakefield of Arizona. One son, Jay L. Wakefield, Jr., preceded in death.

He was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University where he earned his bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering.

He worked the major portion of his life as a self employed contractor, purchasing and remodeling homes for resale.

Mr. Wakefield was a veteran of World War II serving in the U. S. Army Air Corps as a pilot.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA. Interment will be made at Monroe Valley Cemetery, Three Springs, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
