Janet L. Painter

Janet L. Painter, 84, of Hamman Road, Three Springs, PA, died Saturday, June 17, 2023 at her daughter’s residence.

Born March 31, 1939 at Swissvale, PA, she was a daughter of the late William and Althea (Fraker) Covert. She was united in marriage to Alvin D. Painter on June 8, 1957 at Orbisonia, PA. Mr. Painter preceded her in death on May 9, 2022.

She is survived by four children, Alan D. Painter and wife Michele of Greencastle, PA, Rodney V. Painter and wife Cathy of Three Springs, Barbara J. Olsen and husband Larry of Three Springs and David L. Painter and wife Amy of Three Springs, nineteen grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and two sisters, Marietta Leonard of Shirleysburg, PA and Jean Feagley of Huntingdon, PA. One sister, Audrey Starr and one brother, William Covert, preceded in death.

Mrs. Painter was a member of the Orbisonia Church of the Nazarene where she had served as a Sunday School teacher.

Along with being a homemaker, she provided childcare for many local families and was employed by the Southern Huntingdon County School District as a cafeteria employee for 11 years.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be made at Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg, PA.
