Jane T. Illingworth

Jane T. Illingworth, 90, formerly of Shade Gap, PA and more recently of Lancaster, PA, died Monday, June 8, 2020 at AristaCare at Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA. 

Born July 14, 1929 at Shade Gap, PA, she was the daughter of the late Isaac Cloyd and Martha (Piper) Taylor. She was united in marriage to Theodore R. Illingworth on June 27, 1953 at Mt. Union, PA. Mr. Illingworth preceded in death on April 20, 1994. 

She is survived by three children, Karen Leonard and husband Rodney and Nancy Neff and husband Clair, all of Lancaster, PA and David Illingworth of York, PA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Nathaniel Leonard, Rachel Leonard Andrews and husband Dustin, Sarah Neff, Amanda Neff Witherow and husband Alex and Jordan Neff, two great grandchildren, Oliver John Andrews and Whitaker Jane Andrews and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Taylor and one sister, Elisabeth Saxe. 

Mrs. Illingworth was a member of the Mt. Union Presbyterian Church and had been a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Shade Gap Area Fire Company for many years. She had also served on the boards of the American Red Cross, the Presbyterian Homes and Huntingdon County Children and Youth Services.

During her life she was a homemaker and was employed as a teacher at the Shade Gap Elementary School for 3 years. 

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Mount Union Presbyterian Church, Shirley St. and N. Division St., Mount Union, PA with Rev. Beverly Skopic and Rev. Elaine Africa officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service. A fellowship meal will be served following the service.

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, masks are requested and social distancing and seating will be observed.
