James Emory Parsons, 83, of Fairview Church Road, Mapleton, PA, died Thursday, October 17, 2019 at his home.
Born March 6, 1936 at Orbisonia, PA, he was a son of the late Herman and Grace (Shope) Parsons. He was united in marriage to the former Selva Jean Crotsley on February 20, 1958. Mrs. Parsons preceded in death November 1, 2015.
He is survived by one daughter, Irma Louise Detwiler and husband Kevin of Three Springs, PA, three grandchildren, Kevin A. Detwiler, Timothy Rohrer and Amanda Rohrer and three sisters, Ruth Guyer and husband Byron of Hollidaysburg, PA, Anna Zeigler and husband Clair of Chambersburg, PA and Carol Warren and husband Barry of Chambersburg, PA. One brother, Robert Parsons and one sister, Mildred Dell, preceded in death.
Mr. Parsons was employed for many years at Harbison-Walker Refractories, Mt. Union, PA, then by the Hardaway Construction Company as a heavy equipment operator and later in life by Wagner’s Excavating, RD, Mapleton, PA.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Army.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Immanuel Bible Church, 22054 Starr Road, Three Springs, PA with Jim Tucker officiating.
