James H. Norris

James H. Norris, 88, formerly of Shirleysburg, PA, and more recently of Palmyra, PA, died Saturday, August 7, 2021, at his home.

Born on June 17, 1933, in Shirleysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Coyle and Thelma O. (Dubbs) Norris. He was united in marriage to the former Diane Rager on August 4, 1978. Mrs. Norris survives at home.

He is survived by step-son Douglas S. Jones, Erie, PA, step-grandchildren Michael Sterling Jones and wife Michelle, and Victoria Jones, all of Erie, PA, and step-great-grandchildren Travis Jones, Joseph Jones, Hailey Jones and Zanyia Jones.

Siblings Janet Stenner and husband Bill, Newark, DE, and Gloria Myers, Hershey, PA, also survive.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Elmer Norris, and brother-in-law, Newton Myers.

Mr. Norris was a member of Sugar Run Church of the Brethren, Shirleysburg, PA.

He was a member of Cromwell Lodge #572, Free and Accepted Masons, Orbisonia, PA and the Orbisonia Lions Club.

Mr. Norris retired in 1992 as the Milton Hershey School Dairy Supervisor and prior to that was a House Parent at the Milton Hershey School.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 14, 2021, at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA, with Pastor James Hullihen officiating. Interment will be made at Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg, PA. Friends may call from noon until the time of the service on Saturday. 

Cromwell Lodge #572 will conduct a Masonic funeral service at 1:45 PM Saturday afternoon at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Sugar Run Church of the Brethren, 17193 Hill Valley Road, Shirleysburg, PA 17260.
