James A. Moody, 73, of Passion Lane, Shirleysburg, PA, died Monday, March 9, 2020 at his home.

Born December 4, 1946 at Paterson, NJ, he was a son of the late Grover and Dorothy (Gall) Moody. He was united in marriage to the former Kathleen Doty on April 24, 1975. Mrs. Moody survives at their home. 

He is also survived by four children, Joseph Moody of Shirleysburg, Christina Swanger and husband Todd of Shirleysburg, Barbara Prato and husband Mario of Dillsburg, PA and William Moody of Shirleysburg, eight grandchildren and three siblings, Beverly Marks of Florida, John Moody of Florida and Bill Moody of New Jersey. One daughter, April Moody and one sister, Barbara Moody, preceded in death.

Mr. Moody was a member of Blue Juniata Post 5754, V. F. W., Mt. Union, PA and Teamsters Union Local 776, Harrisburg, PA.

During his life he was employed as a truck driver for Hall’s, Pilot and ABF.

Mr. Moody was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving in the U. S. Army as a combat engineer.

Services will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
