Helen L. Rakocy

Helen L. Rakocy, 97, formerly of Three Springs, PA, died Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.

Born June 12, 1926 at Shirleysburg, PA, she was a daughter of the late Ira and Martha (Mohler) Grove. She was united in marriage to Wilmer Cramer who preceded in death on November 10, 1970. She later married Stephen J. Rakocy on June 20, 1976. Mr. Rakocy preceded in death on December 11, 1986.

She is survived by two children, Martha Prough of Shirleysburg and Timothy Cramer of Mt. Union, PA, two grandchildren, Rhonda Cramer and Kristen Cramer and three great grandchildren. Two brothers, Bruce Grove and R. Max Grove and one sister, Lonia Joy Leidig, preceded in death.

Mrs. Rakocy was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Orbisonia, PA. 

She retired from the Southern Huntingdon County School District as a school nurse. She was also employed as a registered nurse at Woodland Retirement Community and at J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon, PA.

At Mrs. Rakocy’s request there will be no services.
