Obituary

Helen L. Houck-Ray, 80, of Mount Union, PA, died Thursday, March 3, 2022 at her home.                                              

Born February 25, 1942 at Orbisonia, PA, she was a daughter of the late William and Opal (Duffey) Houck. She was united in marriage to Wesley P. Ray, Jr. on August 19, 1986. Mr. Ray survives at their home.

She is also survived by two daughters, Lissa Walker and husband James of Wellsboro, PA and Regina Lamont of Warrensburg, MO, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, four half sisters, one half brother, one step sister, one step daughter and a number of nieces and nephews, step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by one infant brother, one great granddaughter, one step son and a few nieces and nephews.

She enjoyed reading mystery novels, watching mystery shows on television and traveling, having seen most states in the country.

She had been employed in food service at nursing homes in Harrisburg and Camp Hill and the Susquehanna School District. She retired from DuPont, Inc., York, PA and the Internal Revenue Service, Ogden, UT.

At Mrs. Houck-Ray’s request there will be no public viewing or funeral service. Interment will be made at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg, PA.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Mount Union Community Library, 11 West Market St., Mt. Union, PA 17066.
