Gregory L. Pine, Sr.

Gregory L. Pine, Sr., 74, of Shade Gap, PA, died Thursday, June 22, 2023 at his home.

Born on October 16, 1948 in Mercersburg, PA, he was the son of the late George and Evelyn (Unger) Pine.  He was united in marriage to Jean Kuhn on August 30, 1968.  Mrs. Pine survives at home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by children Gregory Pine, Jr., Mapleton Depot, PA, Phillip Joseph Pine, Mapleton Depot, PA, Lorie Nye and husband Russell, Waynesboro, PA, Brian A. Pine and wife Jessica, Summerville, SC and Daniel C. Pine and wife Erin, Cuyahoga Falls, OH.  There are 9 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Siblings Faye Moore, Greencastle, PA, Joan Garland, Richard Pine and Randy Pine, all of Mercersburg, PA, also survive.

He was preceded in death by siblings Cass McCullough, Larry Pine, Merle Pine, Paul Pine, Sonny Pine, Janet Overcash and Phillip Pine.

Mr. Pine was a member and trustee of the Burnt Cabins Bible Church, Burnt Cabins, PA, a member of Mount Union Lodge #688, F. & A. M., Mount Union, PA, Harry Lackhove American Legion Post 517, Mercersburg, PA and the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1790, Mercersburg, PA.

During his lifetime, he worked as a union carpenter.  He was a wonderful father and grandfather, loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed hunting with his brother Randy.
