Glenda E. Varner

Glenda E. Varner, 74, of Orbisonia, PA and formerly of Lewistown, PA, died Thursday, May 4, 2023 at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital.

Born April 15, 1949 at Huntingdon, PA, she was a daughter of the late Willis and Esther (Murphy) Glunt. 

She is survived by three children, Dewayne Varner and wife Pamela of Altoona, PA, Yvonne Hathaway of Lehighton, PA and Nathan Varner and wife Shanna of Mifflintown, PA. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and six siblings, Wendell Glunt of Shade Gap, PA, Clifford Glunt of McConnellsburg, Leriwyn Glunt of McConnellsburg, Darrel Glunt of Shade Gap, Charlene Mitchell of Enola, PA and Marlene Stull of Gettysburg, PA. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lucinda Varner, one grandson, four brothers, Dale Glunt, Loraine Glunt, Lloyd Glunt and Galen Glunt and one sister, Donna Faye Glunt. 

Ms. Varner was a member of the Calvary Bible Church, Lewistown, PA and the former Shade Gap Bible Church, Shade Gap, PA.

She was employed for over 20 years at Brookline Retirement Village, Mifflintown, PA in the housekeeping department.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA. Interment will be made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
