Genevieve D. "Jenny" Shields

Genevieve D. “Jenny” Shields, 87, formerly of Dark Hollow Road, Shirleysburg, PA, died Tuesday, June 29, 2021 at Embassy at Huntingdon Park, Huntingdon, PA.

Born November 26, 1933 at Huntingdon, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Clelia (Calderoni) Cincis. She was first married to Robert Holder who survives of Shirleysburg, PA. She then married Kenneth Shields on November 26, 1981. Mr. Shields preceded in death in 2013.

She is survived by one daughter, Marianne K. (Holder) Russo and husband Steve of New Jersey, two nieces, Clair Fish and husband Ronald and Georgianne Flanagan and husband John, all of Elkton, MD and four step children, Charles Shields of Kalispeel, MT,  Kenneth Shields and wife Bonnie of Columbus, GA, Donald Shields of Shirleysburg, PA and Peggy Lightner of Evans City, PA. She was preceded in death by one son, Robert Hays Holder and two brothers, Anthony and Paul Cincis.

Mrs. Shields had attended New Life Fellowship Church, Mt. Union, PA for many years and more recently attended the Shirleysburg United Methodist Church.

She was a member of the Shirleysburg Heritage Association.

She retired from the Weis Market, Mt. Union, PA, after 25 years of faithful service as a cashier.

A special thanks goes out to Susan and Cecil Brumbaugh and Karen Gearhart Boozel and Joe Shields, for assisting Mrs. Shields while she was at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, July 3, 2021 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA. Interment will be made at Haven Rest Memorial Park, Shirleysburg, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
