Gaynelle A. Glendye, 87, of Lewistown, PA, died Monday, January 17, 2022 at her home.

Born on January 6, 1935 in Shirleysburg, PA, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Catherine (Sample) Smith.  She was united in marriage to Curtis H. Glendye, Sr.  Mr. Glendye preceded in death on August 10, 1975.

She is survived by children Curtis H. Glendye, Jr. and companion Sally, Lewistown, PA, Patricia Conner and husband Terry, Lewistown, PA and Sandra Chapman and husband Michael, Saltillo, PA, grandchildren Tony Conner, Shannon Glendye, David Glendye, Holly Chapman and Eric Chapman and six-great grandchildren.  A sister, Nancy Witters, Shirleysburg, PA also survives.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Glendye was preceded in death by a son, David Glendye and siblings Betty Wiser, James Smith and Kay Francis Smith.

During her lifetime, she had worked at Red’s Diner, Lewistown, PA and as a supervisor at Empire Kosher, Mifflintown, PA.

Mrs. Glendye enjoyed reading, knitting, bird watching and word searches.  She loved her family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 PM, Thursday, January 20, 2022 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Alann Schmidt officiating.  Interment will be at Monroe Valley Cemetery, Three Springs, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
