Garret L. Mills

Garret L. Mills, 76, of Shade Gap, PA, died at 11:50 PM, Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at AristaCare at Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.

Born February 11, 1943 at Shade Gap, PA, he was a son of the late K. Leroy and Helen (Linn) Mills. He was united in marriage to the former Linda L. Murphy on September 25, 1965. Mrs. Mills survives at their home.

He is also survived by three children, Lori Shoop and husband Bryan of Shade Gap, PA, Michele Welsh and husband Kenneth of McConnellsburg, PA and Garret D. Mills and wife Danielle of Shade Gap, PA, six grandchildren, Brandi Christy, Austin Shoop, Justin Welsh, Andrew Shoop, Peyton Mills and Darren Mills, one great grandson, Finley Garret Christy and two siblings, Roxanna Miller and Dale Mills, both of Shade Gap, PA.

Mr. Mills was a member of the Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, Shade Gap, PA where he served on the board of trustees and as a Sunday School teacher.

He retired from Georgia Pacific, Inc., Chambersburg, PA, formerly James River Corporation, as a machine operator.

Mr. Mills served in the U. S. Army National Guard for six years.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, April 12, 2019 at the Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, 22776 Piper Lane, Shade Gap, PA with Rev. Berry Brown officiating. Interment will be made at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap, PA. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the service.
