Gail C. Hughes

Gail C. Hughes, 87, of Mt.  Union, PA, died Saturday, August 3, 2024 at Chambersburg Hospital.

Born June 10, 1937 at Mt. Union, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Rita (Shiley) Kidd. 

She is survived by three children, David Hughes and wife Debra of Verona, VA, Cynthia Moehle and husband Daniel of Lakewood Ranch, FL and Karen Marie Hughes of Chambersburg, two grandchildren whom she adored, Heather Pierre and husband Lionel of Chambersburg and Robert Moehle and wife Kailyn of Mukilteo, WA and two great grandchildren, Taylor Pierre and Mackenzie Pierre.

She was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, Mt. Union, PA, her entire life.

She retired from the Mount Union Area School District after 30 years service as the cafeteria manager. Later she was employed at Vaughn's Flowers and also provided babysitting services.

She loved her family, traveling, people and having a good time all the time. Rod Stewart was her all time favorite singer.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, August 9, 2024 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 203 W. Market St., Mt. Union, PA with Fr. Joseph Fleming officiating. Interment will be made at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Shirleysburg, PA. A viewing will be held at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
