G. Jean Leonard

G. Jean Leonard, 81, of Rockhill Furnace, PA, died Friday, August 26, 2022 at Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA, where she had been residing.

Born January 23, 1941 at Blain, PA, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Irene (Cumming) Bard. She was united in marriage to Fred D. Leonard in 1965. Mr. Leonard survives at their home.

She is also survived by two children, Luanne Applegate and husband Patrick of Middletown, PA and Fred B. Leonard of Blacklog Valley Road, Orbisonia, four granddaughters, Stephanie Applegate, Rachel Applegate, Kara Waite and husband Chad and Larissa Leonard and fiance Jared Parks. Three brothers, Larry, Jerry and Mike Bard and one sister, Kay McMonigal, preceded in death.

Mrs. Leonard was a member of the Orbisonia Presbyterian Church and the Mt. Union Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star.

For many years she was employed as the secretary of Orbisonia Borough, Rockhill Furnace Borough and the Orbisonia Rockhill Joint Municipal Authority.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 28, 2022 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Rev. Beverly Skopic officiating. Interment will be made at Germany Valley Cemetery, Shirleysburg, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Sunday.
