Ferne A. (Nelson) Mills

Ferne A. Mills, 88, formerly of Carlisle, PA and Shade Gap/Burnt Cabins, PA died Sunday, July 25, 2021 at Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.

Born on November 11, 1932 in Manitoba, Canada, she was the daughter of the late Ernest LeRoy and Lila Maude (Patton) Nelson.  She was united in marriage to Ordean Miller who preceded in death and later to Wesley Mills who also preceded in death.

She is survived by sons David Miller, Hagerstown, MD, Peter Miller and companion Cheryl Waters, Burnt Cabins, PA and Paul Miller and wife Penny, Three Springs, PA.  Seven grandchildren and one great grandchild survive.  Two sisters, Alice Gordon, Winnipeg, Canada and Rita Wilson, Toronto, Canada also survive.

A son, Mark Miller, and brother Earl Nelson preceded in death.

Mrs. Mills was a member of Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, Shade Gap, PA.

During her lifetime, she started employment with the former Saltillo Telephone Company, Saltillo, PA and later retired with CenturyLink (formerly Sprint).

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

Interment will be at Fair Ridge Cemetery, Shade Gap, PA.
