Emory J. Covert

Emory J. Covert, 84, of Valley St., Orbisonia, PA, died Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Geisinger Lewistown Hospital. 

Born April 20, 1937 at Huntingdon, PA, he was a son of the late Emory J. and Masie (Madden) Covert. He was united in marriage to the former Carol Miller on August 1, 1969. Mrs. Covert survives at their home.

He is also survived by two children, Bonnie Covert and Emory Covert, III and wife Tina, all of Orbisonia, three grandchildren, Raven Johnson, Grayson Covert and Emily Covert and three siblings, Janet Wickard of Carlisle, PA, Barry Covert of Three Springs, PA and Debbie Shields of Shirleysburg, PA. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Billie Jo Johnson, two brothers, four sisters and two sisters who died in infancy.

Mr. Covert attended the Orbisonia Church of the Nazarene, Rockhill Furnace, PA.

He retired from Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA after 29 years service as a mechanic.

Mr. Covert was a veteran of the U. S. Army.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, January 28, 2022 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Freeman Snair officiating. Interment will be made at Monroe Valley Cemetery, RD, Three Springs, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
