Elizabeth A. (Ashman) Bollinger

Elizabeth A. “Betty” Bollinger, 98, of Orbisonia, PA, died Sunday, October 22, 2023 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Born on August 23, 1925 in Saltillo, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Anna (Kimmel) Ashman.  She was united in marriage to Lester E. “Bud” Bollinger on May 15, 1946 in Cassville, PA.  Mr. Bollinger preceded in death on October 28, 2005.

Mrs. Bollinger is survived by daughters Barbara Freeman, Hagerstown, MD and Bona Dillman, York, PA and sister Linda Spencer.  Four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and multiple nieces and nephews also survive.

She was preceded in death by siblings Ed Ashman, Richard Ashman, Sigel Ashman, Charles Ashman, Mary Bard, Margaret Ashman, Joann Ashman and John Ashman.

Mrs. Bollinger was a graduate of Saltillo High School — Class of 1943.

During her lifetime, she was a member of the Rockhill Church of the Brethren, Rockhill Furnace, PA, Mount Union Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 28, Mount Union, PA, Ladies Auxiliary of Madden-Wennick Post 518, American Legion, Rockhill Furnace, PA and Ladies Auxiliary of Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, October 26, 2023 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Douglas Sherlock and Pastor Beverly Skopic officiating.  Interment will be at Orbisonia Cemetery, Orbisonia, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Rockhill Church of the Brethren, 385 Valley St., Rockhill Furnace, PA 17249.
