Dorothy I. Locke, 85, of Pleasant Hill Road, Burnt Cabins, PA, died Thursday, July 15, 2021 at the home of her daughter, Cathy Piper, of Moose Road, Burnt Cabins.
Born April 2, 1936 in Shirley Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Flora (Morgan) Flasher. She was united in marriage to Stanley H. Locke on October 23, 1954. Mr. Locke preceded in death on September 19, 2003.
She is survived by three daughters, Cathy Piper and husband Randy of Burnt Cabins, Peggy Kern and husband Len of RD, Mapleton, PA and Cristy Miller and husband Jeffrey of Harrisburg, PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, Matthew Piper, Miranda Campbell, Holly Zerbe, Hope Butler, Ashley Doyle, Alyson Kittle, Emily Himmelberger and Jonathan Miller, eighteen great grandchildren, one brother, Wesley Flasher of RD, Mt. Union, PA and her companion, William McKee. One sister, Betty Froman, preceded in death.
Mrs. Locke was a member of the Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, Shade Gap, PA, where she served as the organist for many years. She also served on the Dublin Township Election Board for a number of years. She was a graduate of Orbisonia High School in the Class of 1954.
During her life she was a homemaker.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 20, 2021 at the Fair Ridge Assembly of God Church, 22776 Piper Lane, Shade Gap, PA, with Pastor Dan Fox and Pastor Berry Brown officiating. Interment will be made at Fair Ridge Cemetery. Friends may call at the church 9:00 AM until the time of the service on Tuesday.
