Dorothy A. Grissinger

Dorothy A. Grissinger, 87, of Hares Valley Road, Mapleton Depot, PA, entered Heaven on Monday, May 8, 2023 at her home.

Born June 18, 1935, at  Three Springs, PA, she was a daughter of the late Otis and Irene (Boyer) Wilson. She was united in marriage to Warner W. Grissinger on November 27, 1952. Mr. Grissinger preceded in death on April 27, 2023.

She is survived by four sons, Rick Grissinger and wife Sharon of Three Springs, PA, Randy Grissinger and wife Jackie of Mapleton Depot, Ronald Grissinger and wife Betty of Mapleton Depot and Robert Grissinger and wife Sherie of Mt. Union, PA. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and four brothers, Chester, Kenneth, Ronald and James, all of Chambersburg, PA. She was preceded in death by a brother, Donald, a sister, Betty Lou, an infant sister, Shirley and a daughter in law, Deborah Grissinger.

Mrs. Grissinger attended Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Three Springs, as a child and later at the Beavertown Bible Church, Todd, PA. 

After attending Saltillo High School she was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. She also worked as a home health aid for the Home Nursing Agency for 11 years.

She enjoyed most of all her family and caring for her home of over 70 years that she built and shared with her husband. She also liked gardening, canning, cooking, fishing, camping and bus trips that she and her husband took with the Bricktown Senior Citizens.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 12, 2023 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Jeffrey Knepper officiating. Interment will be made at Saltillo Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beavertown Bible Church, 17758 New Fording Road, Todd, PA 16685.
