David T. Illingworth

David T. Illingworth, 57, formerly of Shade Gap, PA and more recently of York, PA, died Thursday, January 21, 2021 at his home.

Born October 31, 1963 at Huntingdon, PA, he was a son of the late Theodore and Jane (Taylor) Illingworth. 

He is survived by two sisters, Karen Leonard and her husband Rodney and Nancy Neff and her husband Clair, all of Lancaster, PA. He is also survived by five nieces and nephews, one great niece, two great nephews and five cousins.

Mr. Illingworth attended the Southern Huntingdon Co. High School until the 8th grade then graduated from Mercersburg Academy where he earned his varsity letter all four years there in baseball, football and wrestling. He then graduated from Franklin and Marshall College, Lancaster, PA. While at F & M he was a member of the baseball team and the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity.

Over the years he enjoyed attending various high school football games and was an avid fan of Penn State football, the Minnesota Vikings and the Pittsburgh Pirates.

During his life he had been especially fond of his bassett hounds, Marshall and Woody.

A graveside service will be held at 1:30 PM, Sunday, May 23, 2021 at the Shade Gap Presbyterian Cemetery, 11700 Town Hill St., Shade Gap, PA.
