Charles D. Yohn, 83, of Iron Bridge Drive, Blairs Mills, PA, died Monday, June 27, 2022 at Chambersburg Hospital.
Born November 23, 1938 in Tell Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, he was a son of the late James Archibald and Violet (Parson) Yohn. He was united in marriage to the former Martha Williams on May 4,1962. Mrs. Yohn survives at their home.
He is also survived by three children, Craig Yohn and wife Brenda of Three Springs, PA, Curtis Yohn of Spring Run, PA and Carla Walker and husband Rick of Three Springs, six grandchildren, Jordan Yohn, Lily Carowick, McKenzie Yohn, Macy Yohn, Madison Knepper and Brooks Walker, three great grandchildren, Beau Yohn, Colt Yohn and Violet Carowick and one sister, Lottie Yocum of Blairs Mills. Two sisters, Kathleen Fleming and Lela Cisney and one brother, Alvin Lawrence Yohn, preceded in death.
Mr. Yohn was a member of the Nossville United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent for many years. He also served as president of the Nossville Cemetery Association for many years, was a life member of the Blairs Mills Lions Club and served as roadmaster for Dublin Township for a number of years. He was a 1956 graduate of Orbisonia High School.
He retired from Fayetteville Contractors, Inc., as a heavy equipment operator. He was also a school bus contractor for over 50 years in the Southern Huntingdon County School District.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, July 1, 2022 at the Nossville United Methodist Church, 19852 Tuscarora Creek Road, Blairs Mills, PA. Interment will be made at Nossville Cemetery. Friends may call at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA 6 - 8 PM on Thursday and at the church one hour prior to the service on Friday.
