Carl Rex Parson

Carl Rex Parson, 82, of Shade Gap, PA, died Thursday, January 11, 2024 at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, PA.

Born on March 23, 1941 in Shade Gap, PA, he was the son of the late William and Dorothy (Gregor) Parson.  He was united in marriage to Bonnie Mentzer on June 29, 1964.  Mrs. Parson survives at home.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Parson is survived by children Jeffrey Parson and wife Jody, Rehoboth Beach, DE, Jerre Parson and wife Nicki, McConnellsburg, PA, Jody Parson and wife Suzanne, Greencastle, PA and Jill Seville and husband Jeff, Big Cove Tannery, PA.  There are ten grandchildren, three step-grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Siblings Mary Yeager, Gary Parson, Bobby Parson, Glenn Parson, Rick Parson and Kay Price also survive.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Lucille Wagner and brother Ronald Parson.

Mr. Parson was a member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church, Shade Gap, PA.

During his lifetime, Mr. Parson was employed at the Pennsylvania Turnpike and retired after 30 years of service.  He was an avid hunter, enjoyed fishing, vacationing, family gatherings and spending time with his family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, January 15, 2024 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Joe Barrett officiating.  Interment will be private at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shade Gap, PA.  Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Monday.
