Arthur W. Jones, 93, of Shippensburg, PA, died Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Paramount Senior Living, Fayetteville, PA.
Born on October 20, 1931 in Neelyton, PA, he was the son of the late Raymond and Hazel (Appleby) Jones. He was united in marriage to Blanche V. Parson on February 27, 1959. Mrs. Jones preceded in death on September 8, 2018.
Mr. Jones is survived by two sons, Warren R. Jones and wife, Kyla, of Shippensburg, PA, and Norman A. Jones and companion, Sue Andrews, of Chambersburg, PA; three grandchildren, Aaron M. Jones and wife, Laura, Taylor Jones Reinecker and husband, Jonathan, and Benjamin K-H Jones and wife, Samantha; and seven great grandchildren, Layla Jones, Jaxon Jones, Beau Reinecker, Myles Jones, Ellie Reinecker, Logan Jones and Wade Jones.
Siblings Vivian Jane Elizabeth “Casey” Jones-Moore, Lewistown, PA, Carl Jones, Washington D.C., Wendell Jones, Shade Gap, PA, Bernice Jones Park, Newton Hamilton, PA and Ivan Ehman, Fannettsburg, PA also survive.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by siblings Maxine Jones O’Donnell, Edward Jones and Glenn Jones.
He was a graduate of Captain Jack High School - Class of 1949.
Mr. Jones was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving during the Korean Conflict aboard the U.S.S. Wisconsin.
He was a member of the Spring Run United Methodist Church, Spring Run, past member of the Path Valley Lions Club and former member of Dry Run Legion Post 232, Dry Run, PA.
During his lifetime, Mr. Jones worked as a logger for 13 years, was employed at New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co., New Enterprise, PA for 13 years and later as an Ammunition Distribution Leader at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, PA for over 20 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, January 27, 2025 at the Spring Run United Methodist Church, 16667 Main Street, Spring Run, PA with Pastor Darwin Goshorn officiating. Private interment will be at Neelyton-Pine Grove Cemetery, Neelyton, PA at a later date. Friends may call from 6 - 8:00 PM on Sunday at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA and at the church one hour prior to the service on Monday.
