Ann Norris Obituary

Ann Drake Gracey Norris, 83, of Saltillo, PA, died Sunday, January 17, 2021 at UPMC Altoona.

Born February 17, 1937 at Saltillo, PA, she was a daughter of the late Newton and Roberta (Crum) Drake. She was first married to David D. Gracey who preceded in death on August 23, 1986. She then married Gerald W. Norris on November 20, 2004. Mr. Norris survives at their Saltillo home.

She is also survived by four children, R. Neal Gracey and wife Carole of Three Springs, PA, D. Mark Gracey and fiance Rachel Vaoalii of Saltillo, PA, Marsha (Morgan) Dell and husband John of Windber, PA and Lisa (Norris) Callahan and husband Jim of Mt. Union, PA, six grandchildren, Marissa Davis and husband Duane, Tara Strauser and husband Justin, Daryle Marie Gracey-Yohn and husband Brock, Kelli Manippo and husband Brett, Joe Dell and wife Renee and Allie Wannyn and husband Jeremy and twelve great grandchildren, Haley, Sophia, Gavin, Carmen, Alexei, Angelo, Rosie, Miles, Avri, Luca, Isaiah and Vincent, and one sister, Mary (Drake) Ramsey. She was preceded in death by one son in law, Steven E. Morgan, one grandson, David Mark Gracey, Jr. and one brother, Robert D. Drake.

Mrs. Norris was a member of the First Baptist Church of Three Springs where she faithfully attended. She also loved worshiping with her husband at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church, Mt. Union, PA. She graduated from Saltillo High School in the Class of 1955.

At 55 years of age she started nursing school at the Huntingdon County Vo-Tech School, graduating at age 56, at that time, the oldest student to graduate as a licensed practical nurse.

She worked at the Woodland Retirement Center, Orbisonia, PA for 18 years and loved being a nurse until her retirement on October 1, 2004.

She and her husband enjoyed traveling and playing dominoes but her greatest joy was her family and her cat Frisky.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.

The family asks that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to the Huntingdon County Humane Society, 11371 School House Hollow Road, Huntingdon, PA 16652, from whom she adopted Frisky.
