Alton H. Madden, 89, formerly of Three Springs, PA, died Sunday, August 25,2024 at Embassy of Woodland Park, Orbisonia, PA.
Born December 20, 1934 in Springfield Twp., Huntingdon Co., PA, he was a son of the late Charles and Cordelia (McKim) Madden. He was united in marriage to the former Treva J. Woodward on December 18, 1954. Mrs. Madden survives at Embassy of Woodland Park.
He is survived by one daughter, Erma Jenkins and husband Larry of Orbisonia, two grandsons, Christopher Jenkins and Michael Jenkins, seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren and one brother, James Madden of Tennessee.
Mr. Madden was a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, Three Springs, the Three Springs Volunteer Fire Company, served as secretary of the Old School Baptist Cemetery for over 50 years and was a former lay speaker in the United Methodist Church.
He retired from JLG Industries, Inc., McConnellsburg, PA. Prior to that he was employed at the former Wible Bottling, Inc., Three Springs and at the former Ebersole and Hamman, Orbisonia, PA.
Mr. Madden was an avid hunter.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 29, 2024 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, PA with Pastor Joe Barrett officiating. Interment will be made at Old School Baptist Cemetery, Three Springs, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
