Alma Louise Rooks, age 84, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Hospice House of Williamsburg in Williamsburg, VA. She was born on December 29, 1937 in Rockhill Furnace, PA to the late Arthur “Art” B. and Alma M. (Peterson) Hollibaugh. A graduate of Pitcairn High School class of 1955, she went onto work for eleven years at Emerson Electric Company until becoming a wife, mother, and homemaker.
She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. Those left behind to cherish her memory are her son, David Rooks and wife Sharon of Providence Forge, VA; two grandchildren, Dylan and Logan Rooks; sister Patricia Jackson and husband David of Murrysville, PA; eight nieces and nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews, 17 great, great nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Connie Steele and husband Lloyd.
Louise loved life as much as she loved her friends and family. She enjoyed traveling and cherished the many trips with her son, daughter-in-law and two grandsons. She especially looked forward to daily chats with her sister, high school classmates and members of her faith community. An avid home gardener and bird enthusiast, she spent many hours tending to her flowers and birdfeeders. Her Christian life was as beautiful as the flowers that she loved so well. Her absence will be felt deeply.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 3, 2022 at the Martin R. Brown Funeral Home, 565 Ridgley Street, Orbisonia, PA with Rev. Ed Seeley officiating. Interment will be at the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery, Rockhill Furnace, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Friday.
