Agnes Freeman Obituary

Agnes H. Freeman, 97, of Orbisonia, PA, died Saturday, April 11, 2020 at Penn Highlands Huntingdon.

Born July 26, 1922 at Avella, PA, she was a daughter of the late Henry and Lula (Hartley) Emery. She was united in marriage to Clyde R. Freeman on April 25, 1943. Mr. Freeman preceded in death on March 22, 1998.

She is survived by four children, Gary W. Freeman and wife Mary of Hagerstown, MD, Clyde W. Freeman of Orbisonia, PA, Kim M. Freeman of Orbisonia, PA and Karen S. Beatty of RD, Shirleysburg, PA, five grandchildren, Kari Divack, Gregory Freeman, Wendy Freeman Anderson, John Beatty and Lawrence Ray Beatty, a number of great grandchildren and one sister, Nellie Taylor of West Canton, OH. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends who were like family. One son, Richard E. Freeman and three brothers, Walter Emery, James Emery and Robert Emery, preceded in death.

Mrs. Freeman was a member of the Orbisonia United Methodist Church for 70 years. She sang in the choir for many years and was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School class. 

During her life she was a homemaker and was also employed by Dallco Industries, Inc., Rockhill Furnace, PA, for 18 years, retiring in 1985.

She was known by family and friends as an outstanding cook and for keeping a spotless home inside and out, as she also loved to work in her yard. She also enjoyed sewing, making Christmas vests for the girls who cherished them very much.   

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic private services will be held at the convenience of the family.
